A Pro Wrestling RPG? Wrestlequest makes too much sense!
During the latest ID@Xbox showcase, Mega Cat Studios introduced their latest game, Wrestlequest! Wrestlequest is a retro-style professional wrestling RPG starring a handful of real-life wrestlers. Booker T and Jeff Jarrett were on hand to help introduce the game and both wrestlers will play a role in the upcoming title.
As a casual wrestling fan, I can’t tell you how pleasantly surprised I was to see this game revealed. Never in my life had I thought I needed a Pro-Wrestling role-playing game but this is where we are in 2022 and after seeing what they showed off, I am absolutely ready for it.
You play as protagonist Randy Santos who has grown up a massive fan of the Macho Man Randy Savage. In the world of Wrestlequest, there is no “kayfabe” wrestling in this universe is all real and it is always on. Wrestling is so huge in the universe of Wrestlequest that there are entire towns dedicated to legendary wrestlers.
The style of the games universe is very heavily inspired but 80’s and 90’s wrestling, Randy Santos takes his inspiration from his wrestling heroes on the tv screen and pushes himself to become his own wrestling persona, Muchacho Man.

The gameplay looks to fit the traditional turn-based RPG formula with some real-time button prompts and minigames to spice things up. There are over 10 playable characters and the developers promise an engaging story that is crafted with a lot of love for fans of the drama revolving around the squared circle.
The game also promises to have many quests and sidequests and a fair level of replayability. You can collect particular items and upgrades that will determine how your version of Randy Santos battles. Wrestlequest is slated to drop in the summer of 2022.
