I was just talking about how I wanted to get away from my gaming backlog and a new game pops out and helps me do just that!

Palworld is the first major game release of 2024 that has taken the industry by storm. In just a few days after its initial early access release on PC, Palworld has already crossed over half a million concurrent players on Steam, is among the top games being streamed and viewed on Twitch, and has taken over social media.

Xbox users and Xbox Game Pass members are in luck too, as Palworld is readily available on Xbox consoles and the PC Game Pass platform. Though Palworld is available on Xbox there are some key differences between the Xbox and PC Game Pass version of the game and the PC version that can be found on Steam.

Unfortunately, the Xbox version can currently only have 2-4 player co-op whereas on the Steam version, players can enjoy up to 32 players in one world thanks to private servers. Gamerant goes into some more detail.

Palworld developer Pocketpair confirmed that Palworld on Xbox does not allow for dedicated servers, and so it only allows for 4-player co-op instead of 32-players. In its Discord, Pocketpair said that it wasn’t its decision for Palworld not to have dedicated servers on Xbox and that it “is quite difficult to negotiate at this time,” but it is trying. Palworld is also missing cross-play, though there are plans to add that feature as part of a future update.

Although you can’t enjoy any full-on 32-player massive online play on Xbox right now you can still enjoy the game with up to three friends. Many players are experiencing issues getting the multiplayer to work on Xbox right now. There appear to be two common errors associated with multiplayer for Palworld on Xbox console and PC Game Pass.

Problem 1: The “Failed to host multiplayer session. Please check your internet connection. Restarting the game or your PC may fix this issue.” or another error message when creating a multiplayer game.

Typically when trying to start multiplayer in Palworld on Xbox, one player will create the room and go to the multiplayer setting option in the world setting, and make sure the “on” section is toggled. After this, the player will attempt to start the game. If all goes well, the world will load up but what often happens is players are hit with an error message. A common error message is “OnCreateSessionCompleteDelegate bWasSuccessful==false”.

Please don’t fret, the Xbox version of Palworld is experiencing many connection and server issues here in the early days of its early access. The best solution I have found for this issue right now is to keep trying. It might take several attempts, but just keep hitting the start game button with the world setting set to multiplayer, and eventually, your world should load up. Don’t let the error message discourage you. Eventually, the game will work and your world will load.

Palworld problem 2: Unable to invite friends to the game on Xbox

So you finally got into your multiplayer world and you decide to invite your friends through the tried and true Xbox game system invite method. You open the dash, find your friend’s gamertag, and send them an invitation.

They get the notification and accept but, the Xbox game invites are not working. Your friend is either failing to load into your game or their invite doesn’t seem to be working at all. Well, the solution here is much the same as the solution to problem number 1. Keep trying.

The Xbox system invite method does work, I have successfully done it myself but it may require you to try multiple times. Sometimes it just doesn’t seem to want to work no matter how many times you try and you can lose patience, in that case, try using the invite code system that Palworld offers in the game.

The player who is in the game world just has to go to options and find their invite code. It starts off hidden behind several asterisks. Uncover them and give the code to a friend. This method is also likely to fail at first and may take several attempts. Just keep trying and eventually it will work though it can be frustrating trying to get it to work.

Palworld Is The First Major hit of 2024

Palworld has become the first blockbuster title of 2024 and it came from nowhere to get there! More and more PC players are jumping on board every day, and Xbox gamers are getting in on the action too. I don’t know how long this wave will last for this game but it is sure fun to see another game blow up like this and it’s exciting for the industry. I hope this post has helped some of you to keep trying to connect with your friends and keep playing this game on Xboxl
